My life experience;
I qualified as a pharmacist in 1996.
Straight after, I began my postgraduate education in therapeutics, specializing in Auto immune diseases.
I started treating many conditions under its umbrella.
I saw many Rheumatoid patients during my first few years until I gradually became very confident in treating even the most complicated amongst them.
The turning point in my life, was when my wife got diagnosed with seropositive rheumatoid arthritis with Rheumatoid factor.
Her type was very aggressive that in the three weeks until she saw a rheumatologist, she declined very dramatically to the extent that, she couldn’t do anything for herself.
I realized then, rheumatoid doesn’t only affect people but have a huge effect on people around them too.
I analyzed her condition from all dimensions and commenced her complementary treatment at the same time as her conventional medicine.
The rheumatologist prescribed methotrexate together with the usual; steroidal, folic acid and hydroxychloroquine.
All what she was going through affected her psychological too and she became very depressed.
We decided to go on holiday and delaying methotrexate treatment until our return because it required monitoring which wasn’t possible while away.
During holiday, she started feeling better and by the time we returned she was much better.
She decided to delay taking the methotrexate until her progress stops or getting worse.
She discussed her decision with her rheumatologist who agreed and to review in two months.
In the end, she kept getting better and didn’t have to take it.
Since then, I directed my further education and practice to the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis only until it became my specialty.
My mission is to give my utmost care, thought and effort in order to combat rheumatoid and help people affected by it.
